Teej Festival 2010
Teej women?s festival, celebrated in Rajasthan, parts of Uttar pradesh and Bihar with both fasts and delicious feasts.
It takes place in 3rd day of Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapad or Bhado month of nepali calendar normly in the month of August or early September. Since Teej fall at the outbreak of the monsoons, it is also popularly known as the ‘Sawan Festival’.
According to Hindu mythology, in the month of Shravan, Goddess Parvati reunited with Lord Shiva after a penance of hundred years.
