On the whole, WE ARE FAMILY is a perfect family film with a good mix of emotions and humour. Plus, a brilliant climax, which will ensure that the film grows with a strong word of mouth. The last film which came close to being a family outing was PAA. Before that, the only quintessential family film was BAGHBAN.

But We Are Family is recommended for two reasons. One, Kajol is in fine fettle here. Two, it’s a rare Hindi film that is a legitimate remake, inspiration acknowledged and rights purchased. It’s a sign that Bollywood’s chori chori chupke chupke rip-off days are beginning to fade away.

The film mostly works in the performance department. While Kajol displays her usual charisma, lighting up the screen with an incandescent portrayal of a housewife heroine, Kareena displays a newfound maturity as the glamorous fashion designer who must do the tightrope from carefree girlfriend to responsible mom.

"Antardwand" is a commendable attempt to examine the underbelly of rural Bihar. It doesn’t purport to shake up the status quo. The film only wants to remind us that we need to heal our collective social conscience before curing the discrepancies that feed into our dream of emerging from the darkness into the light.
On the whole, ANTARDWAND has a hitherto untold story to tell, which it tells most convincingly. Of course, a film like ANTARDWAND caters to a niche audience, who, I am sure, should praise the effort.
