Gmail Priority Inbox

Email users across the world receive 100s of mails every day and most of them are either spam or not very important. Most of the popular web based email programs like Gmail, Yahoo mail and Hotmail has improved their spam recognition and sorting capabilities over the time and is very efficient to sort spam mails and move that to junk or bulk mail folder.

But still inbox get filled with lots of general mails like forwards from colleagues and friends, from discussion forums, lists and groups, automated mails, account related and other regular mails from online services etc and it is tough to sort out very important mails from them.

To tackles this issue Google has announced a new email sorting facility called Gmail Priority Inbox.

Priority Inbox splits your inbox into three sections: ?Important and unread,? ?Starred? and ?Everything else?.

As messages come in, Gmail automatically flags some of them as important. Gmail uses a variety of signals to predict which messages are important. As a user you can also help the program to prioritize the mails.

To start using the Priority Inbox just click on the new link on the top of your Gmail called ?New! Priority Inbox?.
