Bharat Bandh | All India Strike | India Bandh | Bank Strike

Tomorrow, ie Tuesday, Sep 7, 2010 Trade Union wings of major political parties called for a Bharat Bandh and All India Bank Strike which is expected to affect banking and finance transactions across India and affect public life in many areas.

24 hour Bharat Bandh and All India strike called by eight Central Trade Unions including CITU, AITUC, INTUC, HMS and UTUC will start at today (6th Sep) midnight.

Most of the industrial trade unions and other organizations have decided to join the strike to protest against price rise, violation of labour laws and disinvestment in public sector undertakings.

On 5th July 2010 BJP and its alliances had observed a bharat bandh against price rice and it received widespread support from all over India.

Congress affiliated INTUC (Indian National Trade Union Congress) also supporting this Sep 7 India Bandh. Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) and Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS) are the other major trade unions supporting this Bandh.

Bank Strike : Banking transactions also will be affected as All-India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) also taking part in this nationwide protest. Nearly 10 lakh bank employees are expected to participate in this strike.
